Subject:
Circa 1850 and aniline dyeMessage: I just need a small quantity of coloured Circa 1850 Antique Paste varnish. Can I mix aniline dye and Circa 1850 in a small container and use it? (I have alcohol soluable aniline dye powder.) In particular, I am concerned about the long term stability of such a mix? Allan |

RE: Circa 1850 and aniline dye Message: The Circa 1850 Stain N Varnish line is the paste varnish with colour added to it. They come in 250 ml tins. link to the colour selection: http://www.swingpaints.com/color_swatches.htm Sorry that I am not able to directly address your question. |

RE: Circa 1850 and aniline dye Message: Most analine dyes are not very light stable. It would be better to use a pigment system. |
