Old ClawfootMessage: Can I mix smaller portions before each coat rather then storing mixed leftover for next day application? On bare spots (tap and drain holes)that I've cleaned rust from should I put a rust neutralizer or sealer primer or both before applying Epoxy? The areas are quite clean as I used power wire brush and a file. |

RE: Old Clawfoot Message: Yes you can mix out what you need on 1 to 1 basis. However, you must be very accurate. The solvent in the klenks is prone to melting platic containers. I think polypropylene is ok. You can also use metal or glass containers. If you did not have any rust you should be ok with out the neutralizer. If the tub is black iron the primer is not required. If you prime make sure the solvents in the Klenks do not dissolve the primer. Good Luck |

RE: Old Clawfoot Message: Thanks for replying so promptly, I'm going to apply the epoxy over the chip repairs (using autobody filler) and the bare spots around the holes first. This way I can see how it takes before I proceed with the entire tub. Is the standing time of one hour still applies even if I'm mixing a small portion for the test areas? |
