Klenks odorMessage: We are rifinishing our shower unit and have a toddler in the house. The fumes/odor is very strong and even though we are ventiliating the room (as best we can in the winter) it still smells throughout the house. Is this harmful to us or our child? My throat is scratchy and I have a headache from the smell and I'm not even near the room. It says baby safe but what exactly does that mean. |

RE: Klenks odor Message: Are you refering to the Canadian product? I noticed odor and not odour...... The fumes from this product need to be vented directly outdoors and not into your house. Overexposure to the fumes can cause headaches and dizzyness. Baby safe refers to the fact that this product is completely safe to use to bathe your baby (after it is dry). Lead-free. |

RE: Klenks odor Message: Sorry for the spelling mistake - I am talking about the Canadian product - must have been the fumes in my house. Perhaps something should be put on your instructions regarding overexposure symptoms and the meaning of baby safe - you never know what people may do with such a vague wording. We did have our windows open, a fan in use, and the door closed however the fumes still escaped into the rest of the house (pretty hard to stop them) - I would definitely not attempt to use this product in the winter months again - especially when it''s very cold out and the windows need to be open. If you must do it in the winter I''d suggest doing it at a time when you can vacate the premisses for a few hours after using the product - especially the first coat - it was the worst. |
