Odor using Teak&Tung OilMessage: I have used the Circa1850 Teak & Tung Oil finish and like the results but the big problem is the lasting odor of the finish. My projects are band from the house for long periods of time. I have read through some of the above Q&A''s and I''m wondering if covering the oil with the hand rubbed varnish would solve the lasting odor problem? How long should I wait for the oil finish to cure before applying the hand rubbed varnish? Thanks ed |

RE: Odor using Teak&Tung Oil Message: The odour that you are experiencing is the slowly curing oil. So, the best way to increase the cure rate is to put your project in a warm, dry, sunny room with good air flow. You can apply a varnish on top of the Tung''n Teak Oil as soon as a you can press hard onto the oiled finish and not feel any tackiness. |
