Subject: Nu Lustre-55 in floor cracks?

Message:
Heya,
I've got an old hardwood floor that's over 100 years old and it's really nice. There are some very large cracks and gaps (some as big as 1/2 inch). I want to seal the gaps (there were bed bugs and apparently they go into the floor and can come back out). I don't want to change the appearance of the floor though. Can I use Nu Lustre-55 in the gaps and cracks to seal them off? Will this crack as the boards contract and expand from seasonal changes? I would then hope to cover the whole floor with something clear and mat - any suggestions?
Thanks!

Many people have used Nu-Lustre-55 to fill spaces in old hardwood floors, as well as to finish new floors.
If you pour the entire surface, you can then buff the surface with fine sandpaper to produce a satin or matte finish.

RE: Nu Lustre-55 in floor cracks?

Message:
I''ve just purchased nu-lustre 55 and was wondering what steps to take in order to refinish my hardwood floors. I have quite a few gaps and hope this product will fill them up.
Do I apply nu lustre 55 and then sand and follow with polyurethane? Will it be difficult to sand through the epoxy? Will oil based polyurethane adhere to nu lustre 55?
Will nu lustre 55 hold up better to seasonal changes then wood filler or paste comprised of sand dust and polyurethane?
Thanks,
Domenica
